Enable User Status Sync in Slack

PULT can automatically set your employees' Slack status to their working location (office, home, etc.). Nobody has to update their status manually, and colleagues can see at a glance where everyone works. This article shows admins how to turn it on.

1. Integrations

In the PULT dashboard, go to Settings → General → Integrations.

2. Slack settings

On the Slack card, click Settings.

3. User Status Sync

Turn on User Status Sync. From now on, the working location is updated in the Slack profile whenever employees use PULT.

Frequently asked questions

Can employees opt out?

Yes. Sharing the work location is optional – employees can opt out of the Slack status sync in their user settings.

Do employees have to grant permissions in Slack?

Without further setup, users may be asked to grant permissions when signing in with Slack. An admin can prevent this by connecting the Slack admin token once – see Slack Sign-In & Status Synchronization in Pult.
